LouBear Mohair the only Mohair Plush Weaving company in South Africa
Luis Da Silva, weaving technician, with a wealth of experience in the manufacturing of pile fabrics and Bernhard Kossmann Dipl. Ing (FH) in textile technology, founded LouBear Mohair in June 2005.
After the closure of the only velour weaving mill in Southern Africa the specialized machinery was for sale. Luis and Bernhard saw the unique opportunity and realized an old dream.
In July 2005 they registered their own business as Tracto Trading 92 CC .
A lot had to be done. Mainly by Luis. Find premises, move and install machinery, set up the weaving machinery and weave the first samples.
In 2006 Bernhard visited and participated in bear shows in Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom to promote their fabric. Internationally there are now retail partners in all major bear making countries and the list is constantly growing.
Today LouBear Mohair offers a wide variety of fabrics, styles and colors.
With the launch of it's 100 % Mohair teddy plush, LouBear Mohair now offers more than 130 different items.
LouBear Mohair is a privately owned family business. Operated by a small and dedicated team to provide excellent service to a growing number of customers.
Our factory is situated in the beautiful Paarl Valley, since more than 40 years home of the South African Velour Weaving industry.
